DR. STEVEN HUNTER
Preaching Minister
Steven has been with Glendale Road since June 2016. Before that time, he served congregations throughout Kentucky but began preaching just outside Nashville, TN in January 2007. Before ministry, he worked in insurance restoration in Nashville, TN for several years. His wife, Stephanie is the hospice coordinator at Anna Mae Owens Hospice House in Murray, and their daughter, Bri is a student and soldier in the Kentucky National Guard while Cole, their son is still in grade-school. They have four dogs, one cat, and a few chickens at their homestead. In addition to his duties with Glendale Road, Steven also serves on boards throughout Murray and Calloway County, is a member of the Murray Rotary Club, and a Reserve Sheriff's Deputy with the Calloway County Sheriff's Office.
GARRY EVANS
Involvement Minister
Garry, pictured with wife, Leah, has served as the Involvement Minister of the Glendale Road Church of Christ since May of 1993. He is the son of the late Buster and Juanita Evans of Murray. Garry attended Murray State University and is married to the former Leah Vance, daughter of Jimmy and Edna Vance. Leah graduated from Murray State University and is currently employed at Taylor Bus Sales.
Married 36 years, Garry and Leah are the proud parents of two daughters. Tara, a Murray State graduate, was married to Stacey Vincent in October 2008, and resides in Lexington, Ky. Keela, is a graduate of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn, and is also employed there. She was married to Andrew Smith in September of 2012. Garry and Leah have one granddaughter, Kyndall Garryn Vincent born April 15, 2012.
In addition to being the involvement minister, Garry serves as the staff coordinator and oversees the day-to-day activities of our office and staff. He serves as a deacon of this congregation in the areas of benevolence, care teams, edification, finance, and promotion and growth. He teaches the new members classes on Sunday mornings and an adult class on Wednesday evenings. Garry’s association with the Glendale Road Church began in 1958.
TYLER BOHANNON
Associate College Minister
Tyler began his service with the Glendale Road Church of Christ on January 1st 2017. He is the son of Johnny and Toni Bohannon of Murray. Tyler attended and played football at Murray State University. He also attended Freed-Hardeman University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
He is currently attending the Master of Ministry program at Harding University. Tyler is married to the former Alisha McPherson, daughter of Ronnie and Barbara McPherson. Alisha graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Education and has been employed at North Elementary as a teacher since 2003. Married for 5 years, Tyler and Alisha are the proud parents of two beautiful children—Hillary and Sam.
In addition to leading the College class on Sunday morning and Wednesday night here at Glendale, Tyler and Alisha open their home weekly to the College/20 something age group for a Bible study each Thursday at 7pm. Tyler also teaches the Young N Hearts class each Thursday morning and is involved with various retirement facilities and their devotional programs. Tyler is also active in the visitors program at Glendale.
Tyler and Alisha have both lived in Calloway County for most of their lives and are pleased to continue serving the students of Murray State University, the community of Murray, and the family of the Glendale Road Church of Christ.
JACOB VAUGHAN
Youth & Family Minister
Jacob began his service with the Glendale Road Church of Christ in August 2020. He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from Murray State University in Athletic Training and received his Master’s degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) in Sport’s Administration. Prior to his work in ministry, Jacob served as the head baseball/assistant football athletic trainer at ULM for 2 years and athletic trainer with the Calloway County school system for 4 years. Jacob married his wife, Kelly, in May 2015.
Kelly graduated with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Murray State in Communication Disorders and Speech Language Pathology. She is employed at Murray State and works as a clinical supervisor and lecturer within the Center for Communication Disorders. In addition to his work as an athletic trainer, Jacob also served as a summer intern youth minister at New Concord Church of Christ for 4 years and served as a counselor many summers at West Kentucky Youth Camp.
